How do I create a new account?

A :

One of the great things about the Select Letting site is we do almost everything for you. Just click the 'advertise with us' button to the side of any the pages on our lettings site and this will take you to the advertisers section.

Can you help us create a successful entry?

A :

Yes - Producing a good quality property advert is critical to the success of your listing. It needs to be eye catching, informative and easy to read. Ultimately, it's the quality of the text you write and the photos you use that will sell your property, with photographs being the single most important element. It's an old cliché but in this case, a picture really is worth a thousand words! When you click 'advertise with us' button we will happily send you through an easy to follow advertising pack contain a step by step guide.

Q :

What do I do about photos?

A :

To add up to 6 photographs to your property advert is a simple process. If you have photos stored in a digital format on your computer, then as long as these are in jpg format and larger than 165 pixels wide, you can then just e-mail them to us, or put them or a CD just making sure that they are clearly labeled and of good quality. Alternatively you may send a selection via conventional post for us to scan them in free of charge. If you would like them returned, please let us know.

Once I have finished my advert, how long will it take to become live?

A :

Once we have received all the text and photographs our aim is to have them on the site the same day your cheque is cleared, although this can take a little longer at weekends.

How will I be notified of booking enquiries?

A :

The prospective holidaymaker will contact you directly, either by e-mail, post or by phone. If by e-mail, the request will follow a standard format.

What does it cost?

A :

The standard charge is £60.00 per year which when you think about is just over a £1 per week. We will however make a reduction for second and subsequent properties - please contact us to discuss this.

How do I contact you?

Which ever way you feel most comfortable, you may write to us, email us or pick up the phone and call us. Ideally it would make our life easier if you can e-mail us your text but we appreciate that this is not always possible.

How do I pay?

We accept cheques in Sterling or Euros. Cheques should be made payable to Select Lettings in France Ltd.

What advertising do you have planned?

A :

Select Lettings regularly advertise in national magazines, widely distribute promotional material throughout the British Isles and France and to help you let your property at key times in the year we also advertise in various newspapers as well. As we are part of the Select Homes in France Group, with hundreds of people accessing the website daily, these clients in turn will be looking for places to stay whilst house hunting.

How does the Select Lettings site work?

A :

Select Lettings site contains many properties situated in many regions of France. By browsing these you can select the holiday home you are interested in and have the owner contact you direct without an intermediary there is therefore no commission for you to pay. The diversity of our offers allows you to find a rental whatever you budget. This can also be useful of you are house hunting as we have many contacts prepared to rent out of season for a few days.

Q :

By supplying my details am I making a commitment or booking?

A :

No. You are only requesting the gite owner to get in touch with you and provide further information. You make your booking directly with the property owner when you are satisfied you have selected the right property for your holiday. There is no commitment on either side until the deposit has been paid.

Q :

How will the personal information I provide be handled?

A :

The information you provide is sent automatically to the owners of the property or properties you have selected for further details. They will use it to get in touch with you. It is not disclosed by us to any other party.

Q :

I asked for further information about a gite but have heard nothing. What can I do?

A :

We ask the holiday home owners to reply as soon as they can but there may be genuine reasons why there is a delay. The majority of the properties are privately owned and the owner may be away or otherwise engaged. If you have not heard anything after a week, get in touch with us and we will do what we can to progress your enquiry.

How do I make a reservation?

A :

The reservation is made directly with the property owner simply click on the availability/enquiry button located under the property main photograph. We do not intervene in the negotiation of the rental. In general, once you have contacted the owner and have confirmed that you wish to rent the owner will then reserve your selected dates for a short period of time.

Q :

How do I know the information given on your site about a property is accurate?

A :

It is the responsibility of the advertisers to maintain the accuracy of the information they have displayed. We do not take responsibility for any inaccuracies and urge all holidaymakers to undertake their own confirmations that the holiday property is as stated before committing to a booking. You need to think of our site as an advertising medium for owners and agents, much like a newspaper or magazine.

Who do I pay for the accommodation booking?

A :

All dealings regarding a property booking are made between the holidaymaker and the advertiser. Select Lettings solely provides an advertising service and does not participate in the booking process, each owner will explain their individual requirements.
